Six lakes at a glance

In September we go on a round hike to the Jochberg, one of the most famous local mountains near Munich.

It is not without reason that it is so popular, because it offers a unique panorama of the surrounding mountain peaks and on six lakes.

Towards the north we look at the Kochelsee directly below us and from left to right at the Staffelsee, Riegsee, Ammersee and Starnberger See.

At the top we see the higher Walchensee on the left and Kochelsee in the valley on the right. In between the mountain Herzogstand.

To enjoy this great view, we have to overcome 720 meters in altitude. Some of them are quite steep, but that means that we get up quickly.

For those who want to know exactly what the names of the mountains are, there are orientation boards at the summit.

The view from the summit has to be admired extensively, but then we want to descend to the rustic Jocheralm.

The way back is along the shores of the Walchensee and if you want, you can take a refreshing dip in it.

Approx. 720 metres in altitude, approx. 5 hours hiking plus breaks.

Pack your hiking boots and swimming trunks and register here if you want to join us. I look forward to seeing you!
