Snowshoe or winter hike on February 16

On the last Berglicht hike we enjoyed freshly fallen snow and glorious sunshine. Even if there was not enough snow for snowshoes, the winter hike to Breitenstein was a wonderful alternative. You can read the tour report here: Tour report Breitenstein

The next Berglicht hike is planned for Wednesday, February 16.

Whether we can do a snowshoe hike or whether it will be a winter hike without snowshoes depends on how much of the white snow will come down by then and how much will remain. A few days before the date I will let you know if there is enough snow for a snowshoe hike.

If there is enough snow, in addition to snowshoes, we would need a full avalanche equipment. We will learn how to use the probe, the beeper (avalanche transceiver) and the shovel at the beginning of the hike. You can rent all equipment from the DAV.

If you already have experience using avalanche equipment, please note it when you register!

No matter if we hike with or without snowshoes, we need to carry Grödel or shoe spikes in case we encounter icy trails.

If you want to participate at the next hike on Wednesday, February 16: Sign up here for the hike via the Berglicht group page at DAV-Munich.

As always, registration will be on a waiting list. You will get an automatic email that you are on the waiting list. If there are places available, you will receive an email from me with further information. As soon as everything is settled, you will get a participation place.

See you soon!

Denise
